Recruiterbase is operated by Hypertheory LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit https://recruiterbase.co/ (the "Site") or use our services. It covers two groups of people: users who create accounts with us, and finance professionals whose information appears in our professional database. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not access the Site.

Information We Collect From Users

• Account Information: Your email address and password (securely hashed), or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google
• Payment Information: Subscription selections and billing status. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe; we never see or store your card information
• Communications: Messages you send through our contact form, and any correspondence with us
• Usage Data: First-party analytics limited to the page visited, referral source, approximate country, and a short-lived pseudonymous identifier derived by hashing connection data. Raw IP addresses are not stored, and we use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers

Our Professional Database

The core of our service is a database of finance-industry professionals. The information in it is compiled from publicly available professional sources and third-party data services, and relates to individuals in their professional capacity. It may include: name, current firm and title, professional focus, work history, education, location, languages, professional interests, and business contact information. Business email addresses may be derived from publicly observable employer email conventions and checked against email verification services for deliverability.

We use artificial intelligence services to organize and categorize this professional information. We do not knowingly collect or maintain sensitive personal information about the professionals in our database. How We Use Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the service, including keeping the professional database current
• To process subscription payments and manage billing
• To respond to support requests and other inquiries
• To send service communications, and marketing communications about Recruiterbase which you can opt out of at any time by replying to any such email or contacting us
• To secure the service, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our terms

How Information Is Shared

Subscribers to our service can access the professional database; that access is the product. We do not sell or share our users' account information. Some state privacy laws may treat subscriber access to database profiles as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; any professional in our database may opt out at any time by requesting removal as described below.

We share information with service providers only as needed to run the service: Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Amazon Web Services (email delivery), Smartlead (email communications), Anthropic (AI processing), and email verification services. Each provider processes data only to perform its function for us. We do not provide information to advertising networks.

Cookies and Tracking

We use only essential cookies, set for authentication and session management; they are required for the Site to function. We store a small number of interface preferences in your browser's local storage. We do not set analytics, advertising, or targeting cookies, and our pageview analytics described above are cookieless.

Data Storage and Security

• Secure authentication through Supabase
• Encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS protocols
• Access controls limiting who can reach stored data
• Payment processing handled entirely by Stripe

Data Retention

We retain user account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention. Professional database profiles are retained while they remain professionally current; profiles are removed when they are no longer relevant to the service or upon a removal request.

Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, we honor verified requests to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Delete your account and associated personal data, or your database profile
• Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications

Removal From Our Database

If you are a professional whose information appears in our database and you would like it removed, or you wish to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information, submit a request through our contact form with your name and firm. We will remove your profile promptly.

International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the service. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
